Jabe was born in 1976 in Abymes, Guadeloupe, where he spent his childhood and youth. He grew up in a large family, in a colourful, inspiring environment. Already as a child he loved colours, painted and drew with pleasure. At the age of 16, he went to Paris to study art and became addicted to painting. At the age of 18, he had his first own exhibition in Cologne.
Back in Paris, he decided to dedicate himself to make-up, trained and worked freelance as a make-up artist. His works have appeared internationally in glossy magazines such as Vogue, L' Officiel Paris, Glamour and others. He has been instrumental in numerous advertising campaigns, catalogues and fashion shows, including Gucci, Dior, Louis Vuitton, Chloé and Jean Paul Gaultier. In 2013, Jabe embarked on a new phase of his career as Creative Director at various magazines and cosmetic companies and founded the international Avantgarde Magazine OOB, with which he created a unique platform for make-up artists.
In 2018, Jabe will receive the Golden Mask for Make-up Art, which will be awarded jointly by KRYOLAN Professional Make-up and Messe Düsseldorf. He has consistently pursued his passion for colours and used it creatively in his career. "I am like a sponge, I absorb everything around me and find inspiration everywhere," is how he describes his motivation.
