30ml to 50ml flacons are the most popular fragrance sizes, preferred by 52 percent of women in Germany. That is the result of German Bauers Beauty Guide 2003. 27 percent prefer 50-75 ml sizes, twelve percent like 75 to 100-ml flacons. Flacons with more than 100ml content are the choice of five percent of women. Flacons containing less than 30ml, as a starter-size, are preferred by seven percent of women. The study also revealed that 92 percent of women (20 to 69 years) use fragrance. 59 percent use two to four fragrances, 41 percent use one fragrance.
63 percent of women have a main brand, that means a fragrance they use for a longer period than one year. The majority of women (46 percent) are wiling to spend 20,- to 40,- € on their fragrance. 14 percent pay 40,- to 50,- €, nine percent over 50,- €, 23 percent 10,- to 20,- € and seven percent less than 10,- €.
Only few women use body care products of the fragrance line. 13 percent like their fragrance as much that they want to have all products of the line. Four percent feel good only when they use the fragrance and the body care of one line. Ten percent indulge in the luxury of a body care in the fragrance line because they had the opportunity to buy at special offer. Six percent got it as a gift, seven percent are more likely to give perfumed body care products to somebody as a gift than to buy and to use them themselves.
