In business life, it is a general rule to keep a cool head and to use your brain. However, especially here feelings should not be underestimated. Then, those who trust their intuition usually make better decisions. Furthermore, people have the remarkable ability to subconsciously and automatically read the mimicry of others and analyse their feelings. As experiments have shown, we even subconsciously imitate the facial expression of the person across from us in order to match it. If someone smiles at us radiantly, we also start to smile. If a grumpy face looks at us, we automatically fall into a bad mood.

Research teaches us: No matter how independent and individual we feel, our conduct is very much determined by our emotional environment. This makes the knowledge of such effects and how to deal with them intelligently even more important - in particular for those who professionally have much to do with other people. The scientific editor Ulrich Schnabel maps the emotions that we have to manage daily, describes their pitfalls and their pleasant points. Here, he takes up the question "what does a smile cost?" and comes to the conclusion: Wonderful feelings are priceless! This is precisely the reason, why so much money can be earned with it.
