Cosmetics as passion: Dr. Christian Rimpler
Even while studying for his Abitur (A levels), Christian Rimpler had his first experiences in professional cosmetics within his family. His mother completed a cosmetics qualification in Hanover, and his father worked in the medical chemistry and biological medicine sector. After studying chemistry and pharmacology and completing a doctorate, Christian Rimpler took over teaching at the successful Cosmetic College Hanover and worked in the family-run company that grew rapidly. He imported the French brand Isabelle Lancray, built up the distribution and developed his own products. This was followed by the construction of the business premises in Wedemark and expansion for clean room production under pharmaceutical conditions where cosmetics was entering totally new territory. Today, the Dr. Rimpler and Isabelle Lancray brands are sold in more than 40 countries and exclusively through specialist retail.
As the President of the Professional Cosmetics Association (VCP), Christian Rimpler has been involved in voluntary work for the further development of this special branch of cosmetics for years, so that the occupation of beautician will also be protected and generally recognised one day. For his commitment, he is receiving the A Life of Beauty award that Messe Düsseldorf grants for special services to professional cosmetics this year.
